Paul D. Smith was born to the union of Jim and Nola Smith on September 9, 1938 in Wichita Falls, TX. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He attended Burkburnett ISD and Wichita Falls ISD. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1956 where he played on the Leopard’s Football Team. He attended college in California for business and later returned to Wichita Falls where he worked at various jobs including SAFB, General Hospital, State Hospital, and The Foundry until it closed. He was later employed by the City of Wichita Falls for twenty years until his retirement in 2000. He received Employee of the Month during his employment for the city.

He united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Robert M. Castle where he was active with the Male Chorus, Voices of Gold, Voices of Mt. Pleasant and Faith Chapel #12.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nola Smith; wife, Fannie Smith; sons, Paul Dean Harris, Jr. and Bobby Dean Harris; sisters, Willie Mae Kirby and Betty Adams; nephew, Jimmy Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving family, daughter, Pauline Smith Evans (Ollie), son, Reginald Harris (Denise), daughter, Bonnie Sillemon (Vincent), daughter, Carol Harris all of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter, Karen Harris of Yukon, OK; brother, Larry Smith (Ruth) of Houston, TX; sisters, Sandra Bedford (Harry) of California and Ashaki Moore of Arlington, TX; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
