Melvin Larry “Shorty” Walker, Sr., was born January 7, 1955 to Maryon L. Walker, Sr. and Dorothy Petty Walker. He departed this life on December 8, 2021.

He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. He worked for Bailey Meissner Company for many years before driving and dispatching for Star Cab Company. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memories, children, Samuel Walker, Melvin Walker, Jr., LaKesha Walker and LaTania Knox; grandchildren, Dewon Walker, Dominique Walker, Jasmine Walker, Mel Kendric Walker, Ava Walker, MarCelyn , Dustin and Zaria Evelyn; great grandchildren; brother, Timothy Walker; aunt, Ginger Petty Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
