James Patrick Huey was called home by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born on November 14, 1948 in Belton, Texas. James was the eldest son of Ruth Inez Reed and Charles Randolph Huey. He spent his childhood in Temple, Texas where he made fond memories with his siblings, Wanda, Jan, and Lynn.

Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Navy. He believed in the value of a good education, so he earned his BSN at Dallas Baptist College in Nursing. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Peggy Greschel, of Vernon, Texas. They were married in 1982 in Dallas, Texas.

After graduating from college, he served as a Nursing Corps Officer in both the Air Force and the Navy. He served God and his country faithfully. After leaving the military, he continued his lifetime of servitude by working to keep others healthy. He ultimately retired as a Nurse Surveyor for the State of Texas.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his grandson, Archer Vinson. James leaves his legacy and fond memories to wife, Peggy; son, Patrick Huey and wife Dee Ann of Nacogdoches, TX; daughter, Jennifer Dalbey and husband John of Austin, TX; youngest daughter, Ginger Vinson and husband Darrell of Abilene, TX. His legacy of love continues on in his six grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Trinity Huey, Austin and Zachary Dalbey, and Daniel and Ann Marie Vinson.
