Helen Diana Harris was born on March 27, 1966, to the late Lewis and Edna Price in Colorado Springs, CO.

Helen expressed a desire to know Christ at an early age. She graduated from Widefield High School, Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1984. She was employed at Bushes Family Store for twelve years, the Goodyear Rubber Company as Tire Builder for six years and then North Texas State Hospital as a Nursing Assistant for ten years.

After a short illness, our Heavenly Father called Sister Harris home to Glory on June 5, 2024, from United Regional Memorial Hospital at 2:13 A.M. Helen was a member of the Lawton Christian Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. After marrying, Harold Harris, and moving to Wichita Falls, Texas, she united with Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Billy J. Robinson. Helen was an active member of the Usher Board and Mission Society Ministry until her health kept her from attending services.

Sister Harris loved to hear Rev. Dixon sing “Old Ship of Zion” and Sister Dennis sing “God is Keeping Me”. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgression, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Lewis, Michael, Rodney, Paul, Bruce, and Danny; two nephews, Michael Jr. and Charles and niece, Charlotte.

Sister Harris is survived by her Husband of 11 years, Bro. Harold L. Harris; twin sons, Gerald Vaughn Jr. (Emmie) and Bruce Vaughn (Amena) both of Lawton, Oklahoma; daughter, Victoria Vaughn of Wichita Falls, Texas; five granddaughters, Ethal Grace of Jacksonville, Florida., Jamie Vaughn of Lawton, Oklahoma, Julianna (Juju) Vaughn of Lawton, Oklahoma, Kamryn Little of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Aliyah Vaughn of Lawton, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Gerald Vaughn III of Lawton, Oklahoma and King Issac Vos of Wichita Falls, Texas; three sisters, Sara Price and Debbi Garcia of Colorado Springs, CO. Charlotte Castro, of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Charles Price (Maria) and Raymond Price, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends; and best friend / Care Giver, Sister Gerri Glover-Dixon (Ray).

In Loving Memory of My Wife

The day you left and gained your wings

My heart just broke in two

I wish you could have stayed with me

But Heaven needed you.

You left me with the memories

And I love you dearly still

No matter how much time goes by

You know I always will

I know I cannot bring you back

Although I wish it everyday

But a piece of me went with you

The day you went away.

Your Loving Husband,

Harold

Helen will be missed dearly. When she and my brother, Harold would come to visit, they stayed at my home so she and I spent a lot of time just talking.
