Emma Jewel Sparks was born September 18, 1944 to Malchia Mitchell and Mozella Lewery in Milam County, Texas. She attended public school in Slaton, TX. She departed this life April 2, 2023.She devoted the majority of her life as an educator at Head Start. She touched many of the children's lives in Wichita Falls, TX. She recently received the Lifetime of Excellence award for her dedication to Head Start in February 2023.She was preceeded in death by her parents and daughter, Michelle Sparks.Emma is survived by her son Kieth Sparks of Wichita Falls, TX; three sisters, Willia (James) Brown, El Sobrante CA, Amanda Mitchell, Chicago, IL, Doris Stamps, El Sobrante, CA; one brother, Kenneth Mitchell, Oakland, CA; grandaughters, LaKendra Barnes, San Diego, CA, Cha'hara Luckey, Wichita Falls, TX; great-grandchildren Mar'KayJa Delaney, Marcus Delaney. Jr., Michelle Luckey-Fleeks, Wichita Falls, TX, Brycen Payne, Bailee Barnes, Paige Barnes, San Diego, CA; a host of close friends and her Head Start Family.
