Brad A. Prince Jr. was born to Bradford A. Prince Sr. and Otimbsie Mayes Prince on March 16, 1944 at Wichita General Hospital in Wichita Falls, TX. He was the eighth child of a blended family of eleven children. As a child, he threw newspapers for the Wichita Falls Times and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended Washington Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School where he played trumpet in the band. He was baptized at the age of twelve at Providence Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. T. L. Longmiles. He also played piano, drums and bass guitar at various activities. He later moved to Albuquerque NM for a few years and later returned to Wichita Falls. He worked as a laborer in various industries and worked as a cook at Sheppard Air Force Base.

Growing up, Bradford always loved to sing. His father, who was the church pianist, taught all of the last five children how to sing harmony. As a result, the boys sang as a quartet when they were children and all of them became members of the youth choir where he became one of the lead singers. In later years, he followed in his father’s footsteps and also became one of the pianists for Providence Baptist Church. No matter where he went or what he did, he always maintained a connection with church, a love for the choir and involvement with various modes of music.

In 1971, Bradford married Gussie Greer and on February 14, 1970, their beautiful daughter, Tammie Darnell was born. They moved to Dallas and lived for several years. Unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce. Subsequently, on July 22, 1987, a second daughter, Kenita, was born to Bradford and Eyonne Smart Robinson.

Years, later, when Bradford contemplated moving back to Wichita Falls, he knew he needed additional spiritual support. He found that support at New Jerusalem Baptist Church which had a ministry for men like him. He loved his church and his church loved him. Sis. Thompson demonstrated love towards him like he was her son. The church musician, Pops and Otis Polk, Jr. faithfully provided transportation for him to be able to participate in choir activities. Brad always anticipated being in the environment of acceptance and encouragement at New Jerusalem. When he had a stroke in church, it was his spiritual family that recognized that he was not himself and compelled him to get medical attention, resulting in the diagnosis of a stroke. From that time on, his health began to decline. However, he continued to be faithful to attend Bible study, choir rehearsals, Sunday Worship, and other church program. Nevertheless, the decline of his health continued until it became apparent to his family that he could no longer live alone. The last two years, he lived in a nursing home. On August 28, 2024, he received that great promotion from his Creator that would allow him to come home and sing with the angels.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bradfor A Prince, Sr. and Otimbsie Mayes Prince; brothers, Charlie Ayers, Jr., Glenn Ayers, and Winston David Prince; sister, Anthenett Ayers Ingram.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Lescia Hamilton Wenzler of San Antonio, TX, Rostine Prince Pearson of Plano, TX, and Linda Prince Johnson of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Donald R. Prince of San Antonio, TX, John W. Prince and James C. (Brenda) Prince both of Wichita Falls, TX; two daughters, Tammie D. Prince of Dallas, TX and Kenita (Michael) Samart Chenevert; grandchildren, LaKindra Prince, Kameron Dawson and Paige Dawson; Preston Chenevert, Braxton Chenevert, Sebastian Chenevert and Kingston Chenevert; great grandchildren, Kameron Dawson and Skye Dawson; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
