On December 23, 2023, Beulah Roberts Burley at the age of 96 departed this life on earth and transitioned to her heavenly home in Glory. Born May 2, 1927, the fifth of nine siblings, to the union of Dee and Melvina Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, John Alfred Burley; son, John Leroy Burley; daughter, Corine Marie Price; brothers, Edmund Roberts, Johnny Roberts, Sebastian Roberts and George Roberts;
sisters, Ruth Roberts, Grace Roberts Lee and Marjorie Roberts Jackson; uncle, Ira Burkley.

Sister Burley attended high school in Rusk, Texas. She later met and was united in holy matrimony to John A. Burley. To this union their son, John L. Burley was born. She then advanced her education by achieving a Certificate of Cosmetology at Tyler Beauty College. This opened the avenue for her to obtain her license to operate as a cosmetologist in the state of Texas. Sister Burley and her family transitioned to Wichita Falls, Texas, where her career as a cosmetologist began at Plaza Beauty Shop. She later became proprietor/operator.
In addition to being an expert hair stylist she was an advisor, counselor, teacher, great listener, strong shoulder to cry on and always had a willingness to pray for her clients and all in need. After sixty-three years, due to health complications, she retired.

Sister Beulah Burley joined St. Matthew Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Sebastian Roberts. She was a faithful member, serving as Sunday School Secretary. She later joined St. John Baptist Church under the
leadership of Pastor L. D. Bell followed by Pastor Billy R. Delaney. Here she continued to be a faithful and active member. Her service included President of Mission, President of Rachel Circle, Sunday School Teacher and was recipient of the Woman of the year award. She remained a joyful servant at the age of ninety-six as she continued to teach the Women Mission Class, when asked. First and
foremost, she loved the Lord and received the word daily, which came in several platforms, including, reading the Bible, and all faith-based material, word of mouth, television and radio.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Wanda Lee Burley Jefferson (Carl); sister, Myra Roberts; grandchildren, Rodney Jefferson, Corey Burley and Kendra Burley; great grandchildren, Shacoria Burley, Dion’te Burley, Macie Jefferson, Kyree Burley, Kayson Burley, and Khorie Burley; three great great grandchildren, Keira Burley, Amari Burley and Dion’te Burley, Jr. ; nephews, Eric
Lee and Victor Jackson; nieces, Diana Robertson and Deidra Roberts and a host of other relatives and friends.
